Mozilla Thunderbird for Mac OS X

 
    If you want to change your email settings, open your account's settings and start at #6.

    To add a new email account:

  1. Open your E-mail Client "Mozilla Thunderbird"
  2. Click on "Local Folders", then click "Create a new account"

  3. Enter the following with your own information:
    • Display Name: John Smith
    • Email Address: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Password: Your email password
    • Click "Continue"

  4. Click "Stop"

  5. Enter the following:
    • Click the drop-down box next to "IMAP" and select "POP"
    • Username: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Incoming: mail.toughcountry.net
          Change to "995"
          Click the drop-down box and select "SSL/TLS"
    • Outgoing: mail.toughcountry.net
          Change to "465"
          Click the drop-down box and select "SSL/TLS"
    • NOTE: If you select "IMAP" by accident, you can't change it to "POP" later.
      The account must be deleted and recreated.
    • Click "Manual Setup..."

  6. Enter the following:
    (Set SSL first before changing port numbers, as it will change the port when selected)
    • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
    • Port: 995
    • Click "Outgoing Server (SMTP)"

  7. Click on the account with mail.toughcountry.net, then "Edit"
    NOTE: If there are no accounts in the list, click "Add..."

  8. Enter the following:
    (Set SSL first before changing port numbers, as it will change the port when selected)
    • Server Name: mail.toughcountry.net
    • Port: 465
    • User Name: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Connection security: SSL/TLS
    • Click "OK", then "OK" on the next screen.
