Microsoft Windows Mail

 
    To add a new email account:
  1. Open your Microsoft E-mail Client "Microsoft Windows Mail"
  2. Go to "Tools >Accounts"

  3. Click "Add"
    Email Configuration

  4. Click "E-mail Account", click "Next"

  5. Enter the following with your own information:
    • Display Name: John Smith
    • Click "Next"

  6. Enter the following with your own information:
    • E-mail Address: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Click "Next"

  7. Enter the following with your own information:
    • Incoming mail server type: POP3
    • Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.toughcountry.net
    • Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: mail.toughcountry.net
    • Outgoing server requires authentication: Checked
    • Click "Next"

  8. Enter the following with your own information:
    • E-mail username: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Password: Your email password
    • Remember password: Checked
    • Click "Next"

  9. Click "Finish".

  10. Select your account, click "Properties"

  11. Click the "Servers" tab and enter the following:
    • Incoming mail (POP3): mail.toughcountry.net
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): mail.toughcountry.net
    • E-mail username: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Password: Your email password
    • My server requires authentication: Checked
    • Click "Settings"

  12. a.) If you are configuring a toughcountry or jrtwave account:
    • Use same settings as my incoming mail server: Selected
    • Click "OK"

    b.) If you have a different incoming email account (eg. telus, shaw...):

    Fill in the following using a toughcountry or jrtwave email account and password.
    If you do not have one of those types of accounts, contact us.

    • Log on using: Selected
    • User Name: jsmith@toughcountry.net
    • Password: Your email password
    • Remember password: Checked
    • Click "OK"

  13. Click on "Advanced" tab on top::
    (Set SSL first before changing port numbers, as it will change the port when selected)
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • This server requires a secure connection (SSL) Checked
    • Incoming server (POP3): 995
    • This server requires a secure connection (SSL) Checked
    • Click "OK"

  14. Click on "Close"..
